Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, but with it comes the threat of inclement weather — not to mention crowds of people trying to celebrate — having a romantic night out on the town more painful than passionate.

So, if blustery weather or the threat of crowded, noisy restaurants has you down, consider celebrating your romance with a beautiful evening at home. Here are three great ways to rev up the romance with a cozy night in!

Consider Breakfast — or Dinner — in Bed

Everyone is familiar with the romantic  breakfast in bed — but if you want to really surprise your love this Valentine’s Day, why not take it up a notch with a fabulous (and romantic!)dinner in bed. There’s no reason why you can’t cozy up atop the covers with an intimate dinner for two — complete with soft music, flowers on the nightstand, and a glass of your favorite wine.

To make it super simple, you can order meals from your favorite restaurant and re-plate them on your china, serving it up on a sturdy bed tray. Or, you can cook one of your partner’s favorites from scratch, find a  new recipe that wows, or even simply eat dinner at the table and serve up a decadent dessert and a glass of champagne in bed afterward.

Turn Your Home into a Special Spa for Valentine’s Day

Want to set the mood for romance? Nothing is sexier — and more relaxing — than a Valentine’s evening spent enjoying an at-home spa date.

First, set the mood with scented candles in both the bathroom and bedroom. You can use real candles — or even the battery-operated kind for extra safety — to provide ambiance and add a spa-like touch.  Scatter some roses around the room, even sprinkling random petals here and there, perhaps in a path leading from the doorway to the bath.

In the bathroom, draw a warm bath and scatter more rose petals atop the water. Add essential oil-infused salts to ease tension, melt stress, and relax the muscles and make sure you add a tray of refreshing drinks — spa waters or your favorite tipple — tub-side.

Play some relaxing music, add a few chocolate nibbles and some fresh, fluffy towels and you and your partner can drift away from the cares of the day.

Finish up by adjourning to the bedroom for some quiet time together to reminisce, watch a romantic flick, or enjoy another drink — or two.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

One of the best ways to honor your relationship is to treat yourselves to the best night’s sleep possible — together. Sleeping and cuddling with a partner has  incredibly positive effects on your mood, emotional, and even physical health.

Spooning with your love can help ramp up the production of oxytocin, the “feel good” hormone and help you get better, more restorative sleep.

Sleeping together helps increase intimacy and pave the way for a healthy relationship. To get the best sleep possible, consider these factors:

  • Keep your room between  60 and 67
  • Use blackout curtains or shades or an eye mask to keep it dark
  • Wear socks if your feet get too cold
  • Get rid of distractions like phones, televisions, or other digital devices
  • Invest in a high-quality mattress

Of those, your mattress is perhaps the most critical element. It should respond quickly to changes in body weight and temperature for pressure relief and cooling yet provide appropriate support for the health of your spine.

If you’re ready to end your Valentine’s Day celebration in true spa-like comfort and luxury, think about gifting your love with a Lunazen mattress this year. We have a large selection of high-quality mattresses made with the latest technology — and a heart for the environment — that will offer you the perfect ending for your partner — and you — this Valentine’s Day.
